Calling all burger lovers! You will not want to miss the excitement taking place on June 24th at Eastern Market. The Fifth Annual Burger Battle features an epic cook-off, with some of Southeast Michigan’s best chefs looking to impress all with their take on the classic American staple.

Organized by Dine Drink Detroit, the battle is a contest at heart, pitting 20 restaurants against each other for the distinction of top burger. This event also includes a full cash bar, a variety of food from local establishments, yard games, including corn-hole, a live DJ, and more family-friendly entertainment. Last year’s event drew 2,500 people!

Tickets grant access to burger samples from any of the competitors, as well as a single vote for “best burger.” The top three burgers selected by attendees move on to the final decision round, led by the panel of expert judges. By the end of the battle, only one burger will take home the top honor. The event’s organizer, Scott Rutterbush, recommends that attendees “come hungry and stay to the end to watch the winning burger.”

Last year’s winner, Frida Batidos, hailing from Ann Arbor, won by serving up a sunny side-up quail egg with their burger patty. Look for the reigning champs, along with past year’s winners, including Townhouse in 2012, to defend their title. 2018 judges include Detroit Free Press food writers Mark Kurlyandchik and Susan Selasky, Detroit News features writer Melody Malosh, and Fox 2 news anchor Maurielle Lue.

General Admission: $15
VIP tickets (early admission to event at 12 p.m.): $25
