Detroit Comix Party is the area’s largest expo of independent comix/zine/art book publishing. The event opens with a 50-table show featuring creators from around the world, mutating in the evening into a gigantic party with readings and high intensity performances by Detroit’s finest performance artists, music acts, and DJs.

All of this will take place inside the historic Leland Hotel, built in 1927, which once hosted grand parties for Detroit’s most affluent demonoids, and since the early 80’s has been the home of City Club, the area’s most iconic goth/industrial venue.

Admission is FREE from 12pm-8pm and the club’s bar will be open for business during all phases of the event.

Immediately after the comix expo portion of the show is complete, we’ll shift gears into total rave mode with local legend DJ Shortround, followed by a cutting edge set by OktoRed/Marshall Applewhite.

Doors open to you at 11am to begin setup. You will be given identification that will give you access to all phases of the show, including free entry into the nighttime part time.

Volunteers will be given free access to all phases of the show. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the form at
