Our mission is to bring new voices into Detroit’s music scene, so in April 2016 we launched our first workshop series: Beat Match Brunch, a month-long introduction to the fundamentals of the art form for aspiring female-identified DJs. The first workshop, facilitated by Detroit DJ Mother Cyborg, had to turn away about half of the applicants, which highlights the series’ potential to breathe fresh air into the city’s electronic music scene. In November 2016, we won a Knight Arts Challenge grant for $15,000 to make this groundbreaking project a permanent fixture in the Detroit musical ecosystem. From now until November 2017, every dollar you contribute will be matched by the Knight Foundation. Will you help us?

Tickets are $75 each and include brunch, beverages, and entertainment. Paid reservations required.

We need your participation to reach an important fundraising goal. The Knight Foundation has offered Seraphine Collective a generous matching grant worth $15,000. That means we need to raise at least $15,000 before November 2017 to receive those funds.

In addition to attending this event, we hope that you will give as generously as possible to help us meet this goal. All gifts are tax deductible and support Beat Match Brunch, an introductory course for aspiring woman-identified DJs.
